Starting next year, Croft Middle Prep will have new leadership. Dr. Michelle Maultsby-Springer is moving in as principal starting July 1, 2015.

Dr. Maultsby-Springer has proven successes in Metro Schools, including a tenure as principal at Bellevue Middle Prep and beginning the turnaround process at Neely’s Bend Middle Prep, where she has served as principal since earlier this year.

“Croft is going to be in very good hands with Dr. Maultsby-Springer,” said Chief Academic Officer Jay Steele. “She will be at the helm during a very exciting time, and we expect a lot of great things at Croft in the coming years. This school brings one of a kind partnerships and programs to the Overton Cluster, and the future there is very bright.”

Dr. Maultsby-Springer said, “I am excited by the possibilities at Croft, and I am thrilled to be a part of the South Nashville community. Working together with parents and partners, we can continue building a top-notch program at this school that will serve the neighborhood for decades to come.”

Dr. Maultsby-Springer holds a bachelor’s in special education, an education specialist’s degree in administration and supervision and earned her doctorate in curriculum and instruction in 2009.
